This video shows Barack Obama talking about his healthcare plan.
I am not a big fan of Obama's.
The problem I see with his health care plan is that there is no mandate making everyone have health insurance.
This means, if Obama becomes president and his plan is instituted no one will be forced to get the "universal coverage" Obama has been speaking about.
The fact is, if buying health insurance is not mandated, healthy people would be able to opt out of buying it. This would raise the premium rates for everyone else, including the lower income families this plan would be implemented to help.
Another problem with non-mandated universal coverage is the fact that those who opted out of it would get sick one day and try to sign up. This again would raise the rates for everyone.
Mandated health insurance is a good idea.
